My kids keep singing that song because they had to go back to school on Wednesday, lol. My little guy who started first grade and had his first full day said, “But, school time is longer than play time, now!” Sigh. Poor little thing. Welcome to the real world.
All in all, it went very well. I’m hoping to use the next week to plough through the last chapter I have to write on TSH. Then, all I’ll have left is the editing on the chapters that you haven’t seen yet. I’m getting so eager to show you the ending I’ve written. Squee!
I’m still in the midst of packing. The construction on my house will begin sometime this month, I’m still just not sure when. We have to be out by then, and our cottage rental begins September 15. I’m excited and nervous and dreading it all at the same time. I think I’ll hate having to shuttle the kids back and forth to school and activities everyday, but it’ll only be a few months (says her contractor with a twinkle in his eye). I am in SO much trouble.

My middle son, Quinn, turned 7 today. Again, I’m having trouble realizing where the time has gone. He starts first grade in a week and a half. He’s been so excited about his birthday coming on one hand, but on the other he didnt’ want it because he knows it means the end of summer. They have one more full week off, then they go back the Wednesday of the following week. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Quinn!

Hi Everyone.
I’ve disabled the comments function for the moment to see if some annoying SPAM posts can be avoided. I hope it’ll work. I’m still in the process of getting things ready for the construction on my house. It’s looking like it will begin mid- to late-September. I’ve rented a beach house off-season for us to live in while that happens, and we will be able to hook up our internet there (Thank God!). I would have been nuts without it.
I’m trying to squeeze in the writing whenever I can. I’m close, but I just can’t seem to finish it. The kids go back to school in 12 days (but who’s counting) so things should lighten up a bit then.

Summer is supposed to be lazy and laid back. Why isn’t that happening then? I’ve got so much going on in my real life that I can’t keep up with anything.
We’ve decided to go ahead with the addition on our house. Unfortunately, our existing septic system failed the Title V. URGH! So, now, we have an engineer designing a new system and we’re still trying to make it all come together for September.
I did manage to find a summer rental that will let us take it off-season. It will mean a lot of shuffling my kids around driving them to school and activities for the approximate 3 months we’ll have to be out of the house. I think I might have a period where I’m offline, too. Cringe. Hopefully, it won’t be too long.
My good online friend, MuggleMomma has been hospitalized after an accident. I’ve spoken with her, and she’s improving nicely, but she’s out of commission for awhile. (That’s why the cake for Connor is still on the front page. I can’t figure out how to take it down!) Anyway, there probably won’t be updated chapters on the website for awhile.
The writing is coming along nicely when I can fit it in. I’m working on the final battle. Unfortunately, I’ve hit a delay in finding the time to write. Chapter 18 is with my beta, but she’s on vacation this week. We’ll get it up quickly as soon as she returns. That’s all from me.

My son turns 9 today. I can’t believe he’s 9 already. I don’t know where the time has gone. I’m also having trouble believing that I had a baby nine years ago. Yikes!
We’re going to see the new movie Monster House tonight to celebrate, and he and his brother are quite excited about it. My little one is staying home since the ads for the movie scare him, lol.
New chapter is up, and I’m enjoying all your comments. I gave those on the mailing list a sneak peek last time, and I’m thinking about doing it again. So go on, join if you’d like to see

My, how this woman stirs up the emotions - mostly hatred - in all of us, lol. I got such a kick out of the reviews - well, most of them anyway. I had a couple of people who didn’t enjoy her joining the story at all. She’ll certainly stir things up a bit - and honestly, if it wall sunshine and daisies for our Harry, you’d all get bored faster than any of you would admit! Hee. Me, too, for that matter.
Do the Inferi creep you out as much as they do me? Eww. They make me shudder - so of course I had to use them.
It’s raining here again today. I’m really tired of the rain. The kids were supposed to have track tonight and I was really hoping they could burn off some steam. Ah, well - not to be.

Hello everyone!
I hope you’re enjoying Chapter 15. I had a terrible time getting it uploaded on Fanfiction.net. If you read on that site, I had to upload it in four seperate parts - it’s the only way I could get it to work, and I don’t know why. Very frustrating. The first time it went up, it cut off less than halfway through, so if you read it there, you might want to go back and peek again.
I’m here to plug a new website called Let Harry Live! Here’s the link: http://www.letharrylive.com/
It’s still under construction, and we’re looking for some feedback, so let us know your ideas or if you’d like to help. We’d like to get some forums and essays on the final outcome going. I hope you like it.

Well, she did it, and I really don’t think we know a whole lot more than we did going into it, but I’m excited nonetheless. No title, no date - but somehow I was left feeling confident Harry will live, which to me is everything.
I’m dying to know who got the reprieve, and I hope she’ll tell us after the end. I have my suspicions. I also have guesses on who the two that will die that weren’t originally planned. I’ve made my own guess on that in this story - so I’m not telling who yet
My beta had real life take priority, but the chapter is on the way. I’m hoping to get it up within the next few days. My muse was super cooperative this morning, so I’m hoping he’ll come back as I’m sitting down now. I’m about to start writing the roller coaster ride at the end, and this chapter will be that slow, torturous, uphill climb where you know what’s coming but there’s no way to back out now.

Well, here we are - the first day of summer vacation and it’s raining. That’s just wrong. Of course, it doesn’t seem to do much BUT rain around here lately.
I finished up the edits to chapter 13, so you should be seeing them shortly. I had the chance to go out to lunch with my beta this past week , and we had a really nice time. It was fun to get to meet face-to-face. I think I have about 10 chapters left to write before the first round draft is complete. I think writing time will actually slow down now that the kids are home, however.
We had a builder come in and look at hour house yesterday. We’re thinking of putting up an addition. We looked into moving, but I really like the location where we are, I just want more room - and another bathroom. As the boys are getting bigger, it’s getting crowded. I’ll let you know what happens.

Heh - well, my six-year old does, anyway, and he’s quite pleased with the positive reaction to chapter 11. So am I - and now, the Horcrux hunt is really on. I’m still pushing through on chapters, although I’m posting them quicker than I’m writing them, despite all my promises that I wouldn’t do that, lol. I just love the feedback.
So - I ripped off all the wallpaper in my bathroom the other day. I’ve been thinking about it and wating to paint for so long. There was this one little corner that was kind of ripped and I kept picking at it to try and estimate how big a job it would be underneath, you know?
I don’t know what possessed me, but I just grabbed hold and yanked. Now it has to be done! My husband walked in and said. “Well, you certainly weren’t subtle about that, were you?” The piece is right in the center of the bathroom. Now I have to decide what color.
Melinda
